Who is really in charge of US foreign policy? On this channel, we favor explanations rooted in a political economy analysis of the decline of US monetary imperialism. However, it has to be said that having wacky christian zionist “faith advisors” praising the Lord and mistaking Forrest Trump for an apostle of God is something to be greatly concerned about. We spoke about this with professor Pascal Lottaz, from the Youtube channel Neutrality Studies. Lottaz is an international relations scholar based in Kyoto and is the author of many books and scientific papers, in which he advances a fascinating paradigm on the importance of international neutrality as a cornerstone of peaceful international relations. Professor Lottaz takes us through an analysis of the current military aggression against Iran and tries to shed light on the roots of the conflict from a different angle than the one we normally use. With him, we explore the strengths and limitations of realism as an analytical tool for understanding international relations, discussing the core tenets of that school of thought – first and foremost the concept of the so-called national interest. The answers to the big questions at hand might occasionally diverge, but it will be very interesting to explore them together in future interviews. We would like to thank professor Lottaz for his time and for the excellent analysis he shared with us. We can’t wait to have him again on our show to discuss his interpretation of neutrality studies, a topic that we touch upon in the final part of the interview. So… watch it until the end, like the video, share it, and comment or ask questions if you want. We always enjoy engaging seriously with serious questions (and critiques).
